"If you've never had a stuffed burger, check out Bam's Roadhouse Grill in Lago Vista.  I had the half pound hickory smoked burger stuffed with blue cheese and chopped red onions. For blue cheese lovers, this is the ultimate.. According to George Look, Bam's owner, the best selling burger is stuffed with cheddar cheese, bacon and hatch green chiles. That's next on my list. Bam's is a laid back - concrete floor - paper plate kind of place located at 6115 Lohman Ford Road about 2 miles south of Hwy 1431. The phone number is 512-267-9001. Arkansas Bend Park on Lake Travis is only another 3 miles so Bam's is a handy "to go" stop as well. This is where you'll find the locals hanging out. A burger & cold beer at Bam's is a good day."

"Brizo’s on Lake Travis had a good crowd for Mother’s day. It was my 2nd trip to the latest fine dining establishment and just like the first time – superb.

It’s located in The Island on Lake Travis at 3404 American Drive. They have a great bar with a grill menu and a covered outside deck overlooking the lake. The restaurant is a little pricey but the food and presentation are excellent. The bar grill menu is priced moderately.

"I checked out the new owners at True Grits Texas Grill & Bar in Jonestown last week. My hamburger was napkin soaking good and prepared exactly as ordered.  The burgers are almost half a pound made from scratch (no frozen patty) so it takes about 20 minutes to cook.  So have a beer or glass of wine and relax. Life is slow and easy in Jonestown. They serve only Texas wine from Flat Creek Winery. John and Anita Klingler, the new owners, were friendly and definitely on top of things. This is a typical Texas chicken fried steak  kind of place famous for down home country cooking. It’s located on Hwy 1431 right in the middle of Jonestown – 8 miles from Cedar Park. "If bread pudding as good or better that Grandma’s is on your craving list, you have to hit True Grits Texas Bar & Grill on Hwy 1431 in Jonestown just before LagoVista. Everyone at the table agreed that the bread pudding was about the best they had ever tasted. It’s a rare find. At $4.29 for a generous helping, you will be singing the praises of this down home family restaurant."
